FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Do you go south for Spring Break?

A: Yes, we have been going to Florida for Spring training since the 1985 season. We fly to Fort Myers (Spring Training home of the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins) to play eight to ten games in a tournament called the "Gene Cusic Classic." Teams from all over the country come and play in this tournament.

Q: Do you offer scholarships?

A: As a member of the NCAA Division III, we adhere to the philosophy of "academics before athletics." Financial aid is offered on a need basis, no athletic scholarships are offered. However, qualified students are eligible for merit scholarships based on academics. Visit our admissions area on the web for more information about academic scholarships.

Q: What teams make up your conference?

A: The Commonwealth Coast Conference schools with baseball teams are located in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire...Anna Maria College, Colby-Sawyer College, Curry College, Eastern Nazarene, Endicott College, Gordon College, New England College, Nichols College, Roger Williams University, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Salve Regina University.

Q: How many players make the team?

A: We keep 25 players on the roster. I look for hard-working young men who love the game of baseball. With a 36-game schedule in seven weeks, our main objective is recruiting pitchers, or pitchers who play other positions. We try to take the best 25 players/athletes for our baseball program.
