Seahawks Play to Scoreless Tie with WNEC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Salve Regina University men's soccer team played to a scoreless tie with Western New England College in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) action Saturday afternoon.

Senior goalkeeper Keith Ginthwain (Tolland, Conn.) made three saves for the Seahawks (5-4-1, 3-2-1 TCCC), who outshot the Golden Bears 16-15 on the afternoon. Kyle Bak recorded seven saves for the WNEC.

"This was a well-played, hard-fought match between two very good teams," said Seahawk head coach Craig O'Rourke II. "We were fortunate that the rain held off, but the slipepry conditions were still a factor throughout the match. Both teams went at each other and the two defenses and goalkeepers should be commended for how well they played."

Sophomore Sean McAllister (North Arlington, N.J.) led Salve Regina with four shots while sophomore Chris Knoth (East Islip, N.Y.) fired three shots. Tony Rosa had a team-high three shots for the Golden Bears.

The Seahawks return to action on Tuesday when they host Endicott at 4 p.m.
