Salve Regina splits season-opening twinbill with Husson

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Salve Regina University split its first two games of the season, winning 6-0 versus Husson College before falling 4-2 to the Eagles in the nightcap.
Craig Silva [Marlborough, Mass.] struck out 10, allowed just two hits (both infield dribblers) for a complete-game shutout. Jesse Outhouse [Croton Falls, N.Y.] hit a three-run homer in the second inning and scored two runs in the Seahawk victory. Nick Politelli [Warwick, R.I.] had two hits and an RBI while Dave Miller [Shelton, Conn.] had a double and a single.
In the second game, Matt Wierzbicki [Wethersfield, Conn.] suffered the defeat when the Eagles plated three runs in the fourth. Riley Diaz [Miami, Fla.] had two hits, two runs batted in including a solo home run.
