Salve Regina University

Orientation

At the beginning of each semester, a mandatory international student orientation is conducted. It is important that you attend this session because we will cover what you need to know as an F-1 status student and update you with information on regulations and policies for all non-U.S. citizens. In addition, you will meet the international student population and affiliates of Salve Regina, and the administrators, staff, faculty and student groups who will be helpful to you during your time here.

International student orientation provides an essential introduction to new U.S. federal immigration regulations with which you are required to comply. But it is also an opportunity to learn strategies for academic success while at Salve Regina, meet other new students and become acquainted with the campus community. Among the topics that will be covered during international student orientation are U.S. immigration regulations that pertain to international students (including employment, course registration, and travel), the U.S. classroom experience, discussion of U.S. cultural issues, and Salve Regina services and programs for international students.
