CGS in Holistic Studies

Required course:

  • Introduction to the Foundations of Counseling and Leadership Theory From a Holistic Perspective

Students also take three electives in holistic counseling, holistic leadership and/or the expressive and creative arts, provided the chosen courses do not have prerequisites. Students will develop their course of study in partnership with a program adviser.

CGS in Holistic Leadership

Students who wish to pursue the CGS in holistic leadership must successfully complete the following prerequisites:

  • Introduction to the Foundations of Counseling and Leadership Theory from a Holistic Perspective
  • Introduction to Holistic Leadership Perspectives

Required courses:

  • Leading Holistically
  • Creative Intervention Skills I
  • Creative Intervention Skills II
  • Leading System Change and Transformation

CGS in Holistic Leadership and Management

Required courses:

  • Introduction to Holistic Leadership Perspectives
  • Leading Holistically

Students also take two of the following:

  • Management and Organizational Theory
  • Human Resource Management
  • Social and Ethical Issues: A Global Perspective
  • Organizational Development

CGS in Holistic Leadership and Change Management

Required courses:

  • Introduction to Holistic Leadership Perspectives
  • One of the following: Psychology of Group Process, Laboratory in Interpersonal Communication Skills or Leading Holistically
  • Two of the following: Creative Problem-Solving, Global Quality Management: ISO 9001 or Organizational Development

CGS in Substance Abuse Foundations in Holistic Studies

Required courses:

  • Introduction to the Foundations of Counseling and Leadership Theory from a Holistic Perspective
  • Foundations of Substance Abuse
  • Laboratory in Interpersonal Communication Skills
  • Identification of Special Population Needs Within the Context of Substance Abuse Treatment

M.A. in Holistic Counseling and CAGS in Mental Health: Concentration in Holistic Counseling

Required courses:

  • Introduction to the Foundations of Counseling and Leadership Theory From a Holistic Perspective
  • Toward Synthesis: The Body/Mind Connection
  • Toward Synthesis: Psychological Health, the Search for Meaning, and the Wisdom Traditions

CAGS in Holistic Leadership

Students who wish to pursue the CAGS in holistic leadership must successfully complete the following prerequisite:
