International Relations

Salve Regina’s graduate program in international relations helps professionals and military officers hone the critical and creative thinking skills necessary for success in the complex field of foreign affairs.

Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, our rigorous program develops principled graduates who are prepared to offer innovative solutions to the political problems confronting our world. Guided by the University’s mission, they work to promote justice and solidarity among our global community.

In small classes taught by accessible faculty members, students study political thought, international relations and comparative politics as well as a range of contemporary and regional issues. We work one-on-one with students to customize their educational experience and ensure their professional success in such fields as government, law, education and business.

With courses available at our Newport campus and online, our program offers working students a flexible schedule and an opportunity to accelerate the completion of their degree.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the flexibility granted to me by my professors in the international relations program. In nearly all of my courses, I went astray of the syllabus and into an area that, while related, was notexactly expected but that I felt important and piqued my interest. I was undeniably allowed to seek out my passions, for which I am incredibly grateful.”
