Nursing students are brought into Salve Regina's state-of-the-art simulation lab eight at a time to practice skills they would observe in a clinical setting but not actually get the chance to do themselves. Featuring patients of all different ages, the lab holds a low-fidelity newborn and toddler along with a few adults. The star of the simulation lab, however, is the high-fidelity mannequin that talks and interacts with the students. Responding the way a typical patient would respond, the mannequin allows students to practice physical care, medications, treatments, emergency situations and physician interactions.
