Major in Chemistry (B.S.)

Students majoring in chemistry take a minimum of 20 courses (72 credits).

Required courses:

  • General Chemistry I and II
  • Analytical Chemistry
  • Organic Chemistry I and II
  • Physical Chemistry I and II
  • Advanced Organic Chemistry
  • Inorganic Chemistry
  • Topics in Chemistry and Research
  • Undergraduate Research I
  • Calculus I and II
  • Linear Algebra
  • Differential Equations
  • Principles of Physics I and II

Students choose additional courses from a list of chemistry, biology, biochemistry and statistics offerings.

Minor in Chemistry

Students completing a minor in chemistry take a minimum of six courses (24 credits).

Required courses:

  • General Chemistry I and II
  • Organic Chemistry I and II

Students choose two additional upper-level chemistry courses in consultation with the department chair.
