Student Organizations

Accounting and Finance Club

The Accounting and Finance Club provides a forum for students to socialize while exploring topics related to finance and accounting. The club provides networking opportunities with alumni and business leaders, guest speakers and field trips, including an annual trip to New York to tour the New York Stock Exchange and visit with international accounting and finance firms.

In addition, the club looks for ways to integrate the mission of Salve Regina into its activities. In past years, the club has offered area high school students budgeting assistance, participated in fundraisers for the American Cancer Society and supported the Special Olympics. Because the club is run by students for students, they have opportunities to develop their leadership skills while creating a club that is uniquely their own.

American Marketing Association

The American Marketing Association is a professional organization for students interested in furthering their study and practice of marketing. Salve Regina’s chapter provides marketing resources and education by offering professional development activities and networking opportunities. National competition and local community service projects not only enhance members’ skills and knowledge, but also promote ethical decision-making and responsible citizenship.

Honor Societies

The department sponsors chapters of two honor societies: Alpha Mu Alpha and Sigma Beta Delta. An international honor society sponsored by the American Marketing Association, Alpha Mu Alpha acknowledges the achievements of outstanding marketing students across the globe. Sigma Beta Delta is a national honor society for students of business, management or administration who have achieved high scholarship and exhibit good moral character. The society encourages aspirations toward personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind.

Information Systems Management Club

The club has participated in the SIFMA Foundation’s Stock Market Game, placing first five times, and has sent management teams to assist the organizers of ComBots and RoboGames. The club’s adviser and officers promote a yearlong effort to write, submit and present papers related to information technology at international conferences in locations such as Beijing, Dubai, Hawaii and Athens. The club has also invited guest speakers, organized field trips and supported local conferences.
