Microsoft Certified Application Specialist
Salve Regina offers students the
opportunity to become a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist. These
certifications cover the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint,
Excel, Outlook and Access.
Structured as a three-credit business
course, Microsoft Office Certification, the course allows students to spend the
semester preparing for the certification exam or exams of their choice with a
Microsoft Master Certified Instructor. While fees related to the exams may
apply, students find value in including their certification on their resumes.
Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3)
The Internet and Computing Core
Certification tests students' basic knowledge of computer fundamentals, key
applications and living online. The three-credit course provides students with
thorough instruction on the various uses of the computer, important
accessories, networking principles and key applications, along with e-mail and
Internet principles.
Both
Microsoft and IC3 certification courses are required components for the minor
in applied technologies. For more information, students can contact Judith
Keenan, technology coordinator in the Department of
Business Studies and Economics.
