Sustainability at Salve

As a Catholic institution of higher education, Salve Regina has an opportunity and an obligation to promote and reinforce good environmental stewardship by integrating the ethical, social, economic and ecological values of environmentally sustainable development into University policy and practice.

To achieve a sustainable campus, Salve Regina must ensure that the University's current needs are met today, without compromising the mission, longevity and prosperity of the institution or the ability of its students, faculty and staff to meet their future needs. Addressing sustainability across campus and within the surrounding community is a timely discussion during this United Nations decade of education for sustainable development.

Unplug unused electronics

As long as they are plugged in, cell phone chargers, TVs, microwaves and other electronics continue to use energy even when they are not in use. Unplug chargers and unused electronics, and turn off your computer and printer when you are in class or sleeping.
