Dr. Susan Meschwitz, associate professor in the Department of Chemistry, has been elected chairwoman of the Rhode Island section of the American Chemical Society, the world's largest scientific society. She will serve a two-year term beginning this month.

Salve students used song, poems and spoken word at a casual open mic and poetry slam night. Developed as a collaborative between the music department and the creative writing minor, the gathering of students from all majors and all backgrounds was a perfect blend of inspired thought, beautiful music and original voices that fed the soul.
